Visual Intelligence was represented by director Robert Jenssen during the UiT event "Hvordan implementerer vi KI for bruk i helsesektoren på en trygg måte?". The event sought to address how to safely implement artificial intelligence tools in the fields of health and medicine.

By Petter Bjørklund, Communication Advisor at Visual Intelligence.

A diverse panel of experts from fields such as machine learning, medicine and health, and law discussed the possibilites and challenges associated with the topic. Around 60 participants came to Bankgården to hear the panelists' views and perspectives.

Centre Director Robert Jenssen took part in the event, sharing his point-of-view on the topic from a machine learning perspective.

The event was divided into two parts. The first part consisted of three introductory talks by Jenssen, senior lawyer Mathias Hauglid, and leader of Mammografiprogrammet Solveig Hofvind. The remainder of the event was dedicated to a panel discussion between the participants.

Questions to the panel included issues associated with health personell's, politicians', and health executives' knowledge and competence of AI, and how the panel perceive the current tempo towards implementing AI-based solutions in the Norwegian health sector.

Other key talking points included how AI challenges current Norwegian legislation, and how to make sure AI systems properly guard patients' sensitive data.

Visual Intelligence thanks UiT The Arctic University of Norway for a well-organized and fruitful discussion on the relevant topic.
