Last week, we wished Aasland—accompanied by Political Advisor Munir Jaber and Senior Adviser of The Ministry of Education and Research Finn-Hugo Markussen—welcome to the Norwegian Computing Center.

One of the visit's goals was to showcase ongoing Visual Intelligence projects at NR. These included:

Deep learning for analyzing acoustic data: Researcher Ingrid Utseth showed how we use echosounder data to detect and classify species of fish. Our goal is to develop deep learning models for automatically analyzing this type of acoustic data

Automatic medical image analysis: Senior Researcher Fredrik Dahl talked about AI models for automatic analysis of mammograms—which can help simplify and streamline various labor-intensive medical tasks

Thanks to Aasland, Jaber and Markussen for visiting us at NR!
