Visual Intelligence PhD Fellow Eirik Østmo featured on Abels tårn

Østmo was invited to Abels tårn—one of the largest popular science radio shows in Norway—to answer listener-submitted questions related to artificial Intelligence (AI). The live show took place at Blårock Cafe in Tromsø, Norway on June 12th.

Østmo was invited to Abels tårn—one of the largest popular science radio shows in Norway—to answer listener-submitted questions related to artificial Intelligence (AI). The live show took place at Blårock Cafe in Tromsø, Norway on June 12th.

Østmo's AI-related questions included if AI is suspectible to "inbreeding" and whether ChatGPT or Google consumes the least energy.

In addition to Østmo, the expert panel included UiT Professors Raymond Kristiansen and Gøril Eide Flaten. Kristiansen and Flaten responded to questions related to control engineering and pharmaceutics respectively. The panelists also asked questions to each other about their respective scientific fields.
