The AI Day gathered over 300 upper secondary school students from Tromsø to learn more about what AI can be used for, how the techology affects people and societies at large, and how individuals should use and interact with these technologies in a critical manner.

As part of the event, we invited several AI experts from across scientific fields and UiT's institutions to share their knowledge on the topic through interactive classroom activities, ranging from how AI can challenge our creativity and artistry to whether the technology can promote or inhibit learning.

These experts shared their knowledge at the AI Day:

  • Kristoffer Wickstrøm, Principle Investigator and Associate Professor at SFI Visual Intelligence
  • Christina Lentz, Lecturer at Centre for Women's and Gender Research at UiT
  • Marko Lukic, Assistant Professor at Resource Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology at UiT
  • Maria Danielsen, Assistant Professor at Institute of Philosophy and First Semester Studies at UiT
  • Jon-Marius Aareskjold-Drecker, Associate Professor at UiT's Music Conservatory
  • Elisavet Kozyri, Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, UiT

The event was co-organized together with Skolelaboratoriet at the Faculty of Science and Technology
