Visual Intelligence Days 2026

The Visual Intelligence Days 2026 gathers researchers, user partners and invited guests to share knowledge and updates on the latest Visual Intelligence research and innovations.

The program consists of two full days of presentations, collaborative work sessions, inspirational presentations by invited international experts, and scientific and social interactions between our attendees.

Date: September 23rd – 24th 2026

Location: Quality Airport Hotel Gardermoen

Visual Intelligence Graduate School Pre-Program

The pre-program consists of an afternoon gathering for VI's young researchers and graduate students to grow transferable skills, share scientific experiences and getting to know each other across institutions.

The topic of the pre-program is centred on Agentic AI. It will take place on September 22nd at Fabrikken (Markveien 35, 0554 Oslo) in Oslo city centre.

  • 14:00: Welcome / Introduction.
  • 14:15: Lunch with refreshments.
  • 15:00 - 17:00: Talk by Georgios Leontidis, Professor at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
  • 17:00 - 18:00: Hands-on activity on Agentic AI.
  • 18:30: Dinner, games and socializing.
  • 22:00: End of event.

    This session shows ongoing work on advancing Visual Intelligence research challenges to drive innovations on user partner problems and data. The session will provide inspiration for synergies and transferred across applications.
    6 “flash” presentations of 7 min each. We have no time for Q & A but encourage interaction in coffee breaks and in the evening poster session.

  • 16:30 - 17:10: VI's research-based innovation highlights II
    4 flash presentation of 7 min. each. Q&A in coffee breaks and in the evening poster session.
  • 17:10 - 17:30: Invited presentation and interview with KI Norge
    Presentation by KI Norge's Jens Nørve + interview by Elisabeth Wetzer, Associate Professor at UiT.
  • 17:30 - 19:00: Posters and interaction
    This session highlights VI-relevant work across the consortium. The intention is to mingle and to learn from each other.

September 24th

    Flash talks by student teams to itch synergy project within VI based on poster session teamwork + panel of user partners gives feedback of how interesting this would be to follow up

    Work sessions centered around individual user partners or innovation areas. Practical info given at the opening..

You can take shuttle bus S22 from Gardermoen airport. Go to bus stop 41.
