Pint of Science is a worldwide science festival which brings researchers to your local café or space to share their scientific discoveries to the general public
Thrun and Wickstrøm presented their research as part of the event, showcasing our current projects within medicine and health and earth observation
Thrun presented how AI can assist with predicting breast cancer risk, illustrating how deep learning algorithms can analyze mammograms to predict a woman's individual risk of breast cancer up to 5 years in advance .
Wickstrøm illustrated how AI is transforming how we monitor our planet, showing how these technologies can help detect oil spills or inspect critical infrastructures like power lines.

Visual Intelligence researchers contributed to the Pioneer Centre for AI workshop on Electronic Health Records research. The aim was to strengthen ties between the two centres on EHR-related research.

Rami Al-Belmpeisi is a PhD Research Fellow in the Visual Computing section at DTU Compute, Technical University of Denmark. He visited Visual Intelligence in Tromsø from November 2025 to February 2026.
