Visual Intelligence researchers represented the centre during Inspirasjonsdagen 2024. The event aimed to stimulate high school students' interest and curiosity for STEM and healthcare-related study programmes at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

Visual Intelligence at Inspirasjonsdagen 2024

Visual Intelligence researchers in Tromsø represented the centre during Inspirasjonsdagen 2024. The event aimed to stimulate high school students' interest and curiosity for STEM and healthcare-related study programmes at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

Visual Intelligence researchers contributed to the event in various ways. Associate professor Elisabeth Wetzer and professor Michael Kampffmeyer organized a stand activity with a demonstration showing how AI can be used to detect and recognize different objects.

The event also sought to inspire female high school students to pursue a career within science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through inspirational sessions by UiT researchers. VI researchers Samuel Kuttner and Christian Salomonsen gave a teaching lesson on AI and its applications within medical imaging.

The lesson consisted of an introductory presentation on AI and medical imaging and group sessions where students could try out various AI-related games.
