Visual Intelligence workshop carved out opportunities for leveraging multiple sources of health data

Visual Intelligence organized a workshop within the health and medicine innovation area on June 23, 2022, in Tromsø.

The workshop was a great success and brought together partners from the Cancer Registry and the University Hospital of North Norway, as well as researchers from the wider consortium. In addition, Professor Mads Nielsen from the Pioneer AI Centre at the University of Copenhagen was a specially invited guest.

The aim of the program was to map opportunities and share experiences for medical diagnosis support and decision support by leveraging multiple sources of health data in deep learning systems, for instance medical images, registry data, electronic health records, and biological data.

Particular projects that was highlighted were a new spine registry data project, activities on diabetes retinopathy, mammogram cancer screening, as well as covid-19 analysis.

The workshop was an important step to set up a strategic collaboration between the Pioneer AI Centre and Visual Intelligence.
