I am eager to absorb knowledge from these experts and contribute to our collective understanding, says Filippo Bascetta, who is one of two new VI interns.

Meet Filippo and Ronan, our new Visual Intelligence interns

We happily welcome Filippo Bascetta and Ronan Lauris Le Deunff, who recently started their 17-week internship at Visual Intelligence in Tromsø.

Bascetta and Le Deunff will collaborate closely with the UiT Machine Learning group in developing an upcoming AI exhibit at the Science Centre of Northern Norway. Both will be working on two high-efficient GPUs from NVIDIA, one of which will be used for running different exhibit demos.

- These GPUs pack a punch, offering significantly more power than those found in personal computers. This enables us to tackle models that demand high computational resources and deploy large-scale language models within the realm of deep learning, Bascetta explains.

Le Deunff is a French student and is currently finishing a Master of Engineering in Signal, Automatic for Telecom and Embedded at ENSICAEN. Bascetta is from Italy and is studying Computer Science at the University of Catania.

- Exciting and rewarding opportunity

In addition to giving ample opportunity to apply their knowledge in a practical setting, Bascetta and Le Deunff believe their internship will foster both professional and personal growth.

- This internship offers me the chance to explore a field that is not only crucial today, but also likely to see increased demand in the future. Working closely with Visual Intelligence researchers enables me to stay updated on the latest advancements and trends in machine learning and artificial intelligence, says Le Deunff

- It gives me the opportunity to deepen my expertise in machine learning and artificial intelligence. I am eager to absorb knowledge from these experts and contribute to our collective understanding, Bascetta adds.
