Visual Intelligence hosted a special NLDL 2026 mentoring session for young researchers with Professor Mihaela van der Schaar – a globally renowned AI researcher and expert.

The session, tailored to early career researchers, offered a unique opportunity for our NLDL 2026 participants to:

  • Gain new insights into navigating the challenges of academic research.
  • Learn how to translate innovative ideas into impactful work.
  • Receive personalized advice from van der Schaar.

With more than 600 published papers papers, including 280 journal articles and over 300 conference papers, van der Schaar is not only a pioneer in her field but also a passionate mentor dedicated to inspiring the next generation of researchers.

A large thank you to van der Schaar and moderator Elisabeth Wetzer for a very insightful and fruitful mentoring session.
