Visual Intelligence Annual Report 2024

The fifth Visual Intelligence annual report, showcasing the centre's activities, results, staff, funding and publications for 2024, is now available on our web pages.

By Petter Bjørklund, Communications Advisor at SFI Visual Intelligence

This year's report presents our progress and achievements in our main innovation areas, detailing new deep learning methodologies which address pressing societal challenges and needs in medicine and health, marine science, energy, and earth observation.

These methods are dependent on our fundamental research in deep learning to answer research challenges related to limited training data, capturing context and dependencies, providing confidence and uncertainty quantification, and explainable AI.

In addition, the report highlights other centre activities from 2024, including PhD defenses, the Northern Lights Deep Learning Conference 2024, the Visual Intelligence Days 2024, and outreach efforts targeting the general public, Norwegian decision-makers, and other strategic groups.

The report represents Visual Intelligence's continued commitment towards enabling novel innovations, technology transfer, internationalization and research training in close collaboration between our research partners and user partners.
