Visual Intelligence had the great pleasure of hosting professor Jose Principe from the University of Florida for a 3-day visit in Tromsø June 29 - July 1, 2022.

The three days were packed with a series of workshops centered on the topic of advancing deep learning from an information theoretic perspective to aid uncertainty quantification and interpretability in image analysis and data analysis in general.

Professor Principe gave a talk entitled "Kernel based Multi-Modal Uncertainty Decomposition Framework" which presents a new view on data decomposition from the perspective of information theory coupled with principles from quantum physics.
