Centre Director Robert Jenssen met with Sigrun Aasland, Norwegian Minister of Research and Higher Education, alongside UiT and Aker Nscale representatives to give an update on Aker Nscale's AI Giga Factory in Narvik, Norway.

Jenssen gave Aasland insight into research projects at SFI Visual Intelligence and UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Petter Tømmeraas, Director of Data Centre Services at Aker Nscale, presented the ambitious plans for Aker Nscale's AI Giga Factory in Narvik, Norway, the Aker Nscale - UiT AI partnership, and the Aker Nscale Innovation Centre @ UiT. Jenssen also presented UiT's new flagship initative, the Arctic Institute for AI in Science and Innovation.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the new AI Giga Factory, the two new Aker Nscale - UiT centres, , and the Visual Intelligence project portfolio.
