Senior Research Scientist Anders Waldeland is nominated for the Digital Trailblazer 2025 Award. The winner is announced at the Dig X Subsurface conference in Oslo, Norway in December.

According to Geoforskning.no, Waldeland’s innovations in seismic horizon interpretation have accelerated workflows, enabling geoscientists to analyze vast datasets with greater speed and consistency, earning industry acclaim for improving efficiency.

His work extends beyond subsurface science. By applying computer vision techniques in areas such as archaeology, avalanche detection, and environmental monitoring, his work supports cultural preservation, public safety, and infrastructure management, showing how digital tools developed for energy research can be adapted to benefit society at large.
