Recent Deep Learning Models and their Applicability in the Marine Domain Now and in the Near Future

Presenter: Changkyu Choi,  Visual Intelligence Postdoctor at UiT

Changkyu Choi

Abstract: In the wake of Large Language Models (LLM), the Transformer model, distinguished by its attention-based learning mechanism, has gained prominence. Originally known for its proficiency in natural language processing, its utility has expanded to computer vision. This presentation will discuss how Transformer models function and their applications in the marine domain. We will further explore current implementations and envision future possibilities, emphasizing the profound impact of deep learning on marine research and endeavors.

This seminar is open for members of the consortium. If you want to participate as a guest please sign up.
